Inter put Chalobah move on hold as Chelsea await sale for Lacroix bid
Inter have paused their pursuit of Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah to focus on other targets, while Chelsea look to sell before bidding for Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix.

Inter Milan have temporarily put their pursuit of Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah on standby. The Italian champions are currently prioritizing other squad needs, specifically resolving their right-flank situation with Anan Khalaili, before returning to defensive reinforcements.
This tactical pause follows a strategic agreement between Inter and Como. The two clubs recently established a non-belligerence pact to prevent competitive bidding wars for shared targets. Como representative Mirwan Suwarso has explicitly assured Inter president Beppe Marotta that they will withdraw from the race for Chalobah should the Nerazzurri decide to move forward with an official offer.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are actively looking to revamp their defense. The club has identified Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix as a top target, though negotiations are currently complicated by a valuation gap. Chelsea are keen to finalize the departure of Chalobah quickly to secure the necessary funds to facilitate the bid for Lacroix.
Despite the current delay, negotiations for Chalobah are not considered dead. Inter continue to maintain contact with the defender's entourage and are expected to intensify their efforts once their immediate transfer priorities are settled.
