Hernán Darío Gómez sets deadline and condition for leaving El Salvador
Hernán Darío 'Bolillo' Gómez will remain as head coach of El Salvador for now, but his continuity depends on the team's results in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Hernán Darío 'Bolillo' Gómez will continue to lead the El Salvador national team for the time being. Yamil Bukele, president of the Salvadoran Football Federation (FESFUT), confirmed that the Colombian coach will remain in charge for the upcoming fixtures against Jamaica and Martinique.
However, the manager's future has been explicitly tied to the team's performance. According to Bukele, it was Gómez himself who established the condition for his continued tenure: if he fails to keep the national team in Group A of the CONCACAF Nations League, he will step down on Tuesday.
"Bolillo said that if he does not leave the senior national team in Group A, he will leave on Tuesday. This means that the coaching staff stays for the matches on Friday against Jamaica and on Monday against Martinique," stated Yamil Bukele.
The federation has opted to maintain stability ahead of the crucial matches. Bukele stated that he considers it unreasonable to dismiss a coaching staff just two days before such significant games.
Consequently, the upcoming matches are not only critical for El Salvador's standing in the tournament but also serve as a final test for the Colombian manager's immediate future with the national team.
