Valencia has reached a verbal agreement with Liverpool for the loan of midfielder Harvey Elliott. The English player is set to spend the upcoming season with the Spanish club.
Liverpool has granted permission for the move, and the clubs are currently exchanging the necessary paperwork. The loan deal does not include an option for Valencia to purchase the player permanently at the end of the season. Under the agreed terms, Valencia will cover the majority of Elliott's wages during his time in Spain.
A medical examination for the midfielder is already scheduled, following which the parties are expected to finalize the deal. This move is designed to provide Elliott with more consistent playing time, following a season with limited opportunities while on loan at Aston Villa.
Since joining Liverpool from Fulham in 2019, the 23-year-old has made 149 appearances for the Reds, contributing 13 goals and 15 assists. His stint in La Liga is intended to be a pivotal stage in his ongoing development.
