Guabirá coach reports death threats made against his goalkeeper
Guabirá manager Leonardo Egüez revealed that his goalkeeper received death threats demanding he concede goals prior to a 6-0 defeat.
Bolivian football has been rocked by allegations of coercion after Guabirá manager Leonardo Egüez revealed that his goalkeeper, Juan Manuel Ferrel, received death threats ahead of their 6-0 defeat to Always Ready.
During a press conference, Egüez detailed the severity of the situation: "My goalkeeper was threatened with death, as well as his wife and his mother. They told him that if he did not pay a certain amount of money or if he did not receive three goals, they were going to kill them."
Ferrel conceded three goals before being substituted for Jorge Araúz, who subsequently conceded three more. Egüez made a public plea to national authorities and the Bolivian Football Federation to launch an investigation.

Players also addressed the media, with Víctor Ábrego expressing his fear and emotional distress following the match. Defender José Enrique Flores echoed the call for a thorough investigation, urging authorities to pursue the matter until the perpetrators are held accountable.
