Gerry Cardinale, the head of RedBird Capital, is exploring opportunities to expand the multi-club ownership model he has established with AC Milan and Toulouse. According to Sportitalia, preliminary and indirect contacts have taken place through intermediaries in recent days to assess whether RedBird could acquire a stake in, or buy into, Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

At this moment, a deal for the Saudi club is not straightforward and remains a long way from being finalized. Due to the complexities of such a move, the investment firm continues to consider other potential opportunities to grow its portfolio.

This interest aligns with the broader strategy of the PIF, which formerly controlled the top four clubs in the Saudi league. The fund has been working on an exit strategy from at least two of those teams, including Al Nassr. As part of this transition, they have launched a plan to stabilize the clubs' accounts, which is intended to help attract potential shareholders or buyers.
