Gabriel Milito faces challenge to extend his unbeaten streak in Mexican classics
Chivas manager Gabriel Milito prepares for the Clasico Tapatio against Atlas, aiming to maintain his undefeated record in high-stakes Mexican derbies.
Gabriel Milito is preparing for one of the most significant challenges of his tenure with Chivas. The Argentine manager aims to maintain his unbeaten record in classic matches since arriving in Mexico when his side faces Atlas in a game where local pride is at stake.
So far, the head coach has performed strongly against his primary rivals. In eight classics against America and Atlas, Milito has recorded five wins and three draws, keeping him undefeated in such high-profile encounters.
His side's balance also stands out, with 13 goals scored and only six conceded across those games, reflecting a defensive and offensive solidity. The Clasico Tapatio represents a special challenge due to the historic rivalry between the two institutions and the pressure inherent in a fixture deeply anticipated by the Jalisco fanbase.
The match also features an intriguing sideline battle, as Milito will face Hernán Crespo, a former teammate from his time with the Argentina national team. While their history adds extra flavor, Milito remains focused on extending his positive run in Mexican derbies and securing a favorable result for Guadalajara.
