Paxon Ruffin: 16-year-old Monterrey prospect trains with the first team
16-year-old midfielder Paxon Ruffin, who has experience with youth national teams, has been invited to train with the Monterrey first team.

16-year-old midfielder Paxon Ruffin, a promising talent within the Monterrey youth system, has taken a significant step in his development. The youngster, known for his technical ability and versatility across the midfield and wings, was recently called up to train with the senior squad.
Under the guidance of head coach Matías Almeyda, Ruffin worked alongside the first team at El Barrial during preparations for their upcoming match against Club América. This experience provided a valuable opportunity for the prospect to acclimate to the intensity of professional football.
Ruffin, born in Florida, has already made a name for himself internationally. He played a pivotal role for Mexico's U-15 side that won the 2025 Concacaf Championship, scoring against Honduras, Costa Rica, and the United States in the final.
His potential has not gone unnoticed abroad. Last summer, he underwent a two-week trial with Portuguese giants Benfica and has also garnered interest from clubs in the Netherlands. Due to his dual nationality, he remains a subject of interest for both Mexican and U.S. youth setups.
