In the opening round of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase, Fenerbahce and Roma played to a competitive 1-1 draw at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul.
The visitors broke the deadlock late in the first half when Bryan Cristante found the net. However, the hosts responded quickly after the break, with Archie Brown scoring the equalizer to level the playing field.
Despite the efforts from both sides to secure a win, the match ended without further goals. Referee Jesus Gil Manzano officiated a physically demanding game, issuing several yellow cards to players from both squads.
Looking ahead, Fenerbahce will travel to England to face Aston Villa on Wednesday, October 14. On the same day, Roma will host Real Madrid at home.
