New Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca is continuing to implement his own methods at the club. During an open training session before the team's flight to Portugal for their Champions League opener against Porto, journalists noted an unusual atmosphere: the players were training to loud music.
It's something I used at Leicester and Chelsea, and now I've brought it here. I believe that with music, players feel happier and can work more productively. Enzo Maresca
Maresca explained that the playlists are curated by the players themselves. Midfielder Matheus Nunes welcomed the change, noting that it has helped to create a more relaxed environment. For the "Cityzens," returning to the Estádio do Dragão holds symbolic significance, as it was the site of their 2021 final defeat.
Beyond their European campaign, the team is preparing for Sunday's derby against Manchester United. Maresca confirmed positive news regarding personnel, with both Nico O'Reilly and Jeremy Doku expected to recover from their injuries in time for the clash at Old Trafford.
