Former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has firmly pushed back against comments made by Manchester United legend Roy Keane. The Irishman recently suggested that members of City's golden generation should "stick their Premier League medals in the bin" following the club's guilty verdict regarding financial rule breaches between 2009 and 2018.

Hart, who made 348 appearances and won five major trophies during that period, rejected the suggestion. Speaking to Sky Vegas, the former England international argued that Keane is speaking from an outside perspective and does not understand the reality of the situation.

He’s not in that situation, he’s never been in that situation, so it’s very easy to say those sorts of things, but I’m in that situation and I certainly don’t feel like that. Joe Hart

Hart also revealed that he opted against appearing on American television to avoid being pulled into sensationalized debates about whether his titles might be stripped. He emphasized that regardless of the legal outcome of City's appeal, his personal pride remains intact.

The former goalkeeper stated that he does not feel defined by his trophy collection, but rather by the hard work he put in during his career. He insisted that the impending rulings will not change how he views his time at the Etihad Stadium or his professional legacy.
