'Enjoy a beer & don't look at the table!' - Fabian Hurzeler's message
Fabian Hurzeler has urged Brighton fans to enjoy the moment after their 5-0 derby win instead of focusing on the league standings.
Brighton secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the M23 derby. The Seagulls were relentless, establishing a 3-0 lead within the first ten minutes thanks to an own goal and strikes from Diego Gomez and Yasin Ayari. Further goals from Charalampos Kostoulas and Jack Hinshelwood sealed a memorable performance.
Despite the result briefly moving the side into second place, manager Fabian Hurzeler has encouraged fans to keep their feet on the ground and simply enjoy the win.
They shouldn't look at the table. They should enjoy the night today without a mobile phone, enjoy a beer or something else and enjoy wearing the Seagulls' colours. Fabian Hurzeler
Hurzeler emphasized that his coaching philosophy centers on consistent performance improvement rather than chasing league positions. With a challenging schedule ahead, including European fixtures against Jablonec and domestic tests against Liverpool and Manchester City, the manager insists that focus must remain on the next task at hand.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace boss Pierre Sage apologized to the fans after the collapse. "I don't know what happened today," Sage stated. "I just want to apologise to the fans because it's not normal to show this face when we are doing this job against this club."
