Chelsea secured a 2-0 away victory over Everton in the seventh round of the Premier League, but the match was marred by a serious injury to goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The 34-year-old was involved in a heavy collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in the 75th minute and had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

Following the match, Martinez was taken to a local hospital where medical staff diagnosed a jaw fracture. The severity of the injury required immediate surgical intervention, and the player remained in the hospital for recovery.

"Thank you all for the messages, the surgery went well. The most important thing is that we won, and kept a clean sheet. I will be back in a few weeks," Emiliano Martinez addressed the fans.

This season, Martinez has made six appearances for Chelsea, keeping one clean sheet and conceding 11 goals. The goalkeeper has already begun his recovery process.
