During Argentina's 3-1 victory over Jordan in the 2026 World Cup, a key tactical moment unfolded before the opening goal. While Giovani Lo Celso struck the free-kick that broke the deadlock, it was goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez who orchestrated the setup.
Broadcast footage revealed Martinez directing the positioning of Giuliano Simeone, Marcos Senesi, and Nicolas Otamendi. By lining them up in front of the defensive wall, they effectively obstructed the view of the Jordan goalkeeper at the critical moment of the strike.
