Crystal Palace have taken proactive steps to secure the long-term future of their talisman Jean-Philippe Mateta. Reports indicate the club has offered the 29-year-old French international a contract extension that would keep him at Selhurst Park until 2030.
With his current deal set to expire in June 2027, the board is keen to avoid the uncertainty that surrounded his future in previous windows. The move is also designed to ward off growing interest from European giants, including AC Milan, who have been linked with the forward.
Mateta remains a cornerstone of the project under manager Pierre Sage. Since joining initially on loan in 2021, the striker has been instrumental in the club's recent success, including the 2024–25 FA Cup win and the 2025–26 UEFA Conference League title. His clinical finishing and unique profile have made him a vital part of the team's tactical identity.
The ball is now firmly in the player's court as no agreement has been reached yet. Mateta's return to club training is currently delayed as he concludes his involvement with the France squad at the World Cup, where they are preparing for the third-place play-off.
