Carlos Alcaraz has officially entered next month's Cincinnati Open, marking his return to professional tennis following a long-term wrist injury. The 23-year-old Spaniard has been sidelined since withdrawing from the Barcelona Open in April, a period that saw him miss both the French Open and Wimbledon.
Tournament organisers have confirmed that the world No 3 is set to compete in Cincinnati, where he will aim to defend the title he won last year. His return to the court is a significant development as he looks to regain momentum ahead of the upcoming US Open, where he also holds the title.
The field in Cincinnati will also feature world No 1 Jannik Sinner. The Italian has enjoyed a dominant season, having won all five ATP Masters 1000 events held this year and successfully defending his Wimbledon crown in Alcaraz's absence.
The Cincinnati Open will take place from August 13-23, with all matches available for fans to watch live on Sky Sports.
