Newly promoted Birmingham City have completed the signing of Manchester United defender Millie Turner for an undisclosed six-figure fee. The 30-year-old becomes the club's first signing of the summer as they prepare for life back in the Women's Super League.

Turner has agreed to a three-year deal with the ambitious side, which won the second-tier title last season to end a five-year absence from the top flight. During her eight-year stint at Manchester United, she made 189 appearances, playing a pivotal role in the club's rise to the top tier.

This is where I want to be. It's an exciting project and I think there's no ceiling to what we can achieve here. Millie Turner

Birmingham manager Amy Merricks hailed the signing, noting that Turner brings not only top-level quality but also essential leadership to the squad. Manchester United's director of women's football, Matt Johnson, praised Turner's immense contribution, stating that she played a vital role in shaping the team's culture over the years.
