Barcelona to include 500 million euro release clause in new Marc Bernal deal
The Catalan club plans to sign a new long-term contract with their young midfielder, securing his future with a massive release clause.
Barcelona are preparing a contract extension for 19-year-old midfielder Marc Bernal. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the club intends to secure the academy graduate with a new deal that includes a release clause of 500 million euros.
This strategy has become a standard procedure for the Catalan club. Similar 500-million-euro clauses are already active in the contracts of players such as Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsi, and Fermin Lopez. Meanwhile, several other key players, including Pedri and Raphinha, have release clauses set at one billion euros.
Bernal has been gaining first-team experience throughout the 2026/27 season, making ten appearances across all competitions and providing two assists.
