Renowned coach Antonio Conte has expressed his admiration for the work being done at Barcelona, specifically regarding the club's youth development. In a recent interview, the Italian tactician described the Catalan club's approach as "exceptional."
Conte highlighted the ease with which 18-year-old talents from La Masia integrate into a high-pressure environment at the Camp Nou. He credited this success to a clear, well-defined structure that ensures the youth academy and the first team work in total harmony.
They are doing something exceptional. When you see these young lads from La Masia blending in so smoothly, at 18 years of age, with a team like Barcelona, and in front of 100,000 spectators, playing football with such ease, you realise the scale of the hard work being done behind the scenes. A specific moment that caught Conte's attention involved young left-back Xavi Espart. Despite having little playing time last season and being considered for a loan, Espart impressed the coach during a match with his composure and character while dealing with top-level opposition on the wing, including Anthony Gordon.
Conte expressed a keen interest in visiting Barcelona's youth facilities, noting that the alignment between their academy and senior squad is a model of effective professional management.
