Barcelona receives official notification of Atletico's complaint regarding Julian Alvarez

The transfer saga surrounding striker Julian Alvarez has entered a new phase. Barcelona has received official notification from the Spanish Football Federation and FIFA following a formal complaint lodged by Atletico Madrid regarding the Argentine player.

According to reports from Marca, this notification marks the official beginning of the defense submission process. Barcelona is currently preparing its formal response to be filed with the relevant authorities before a final decision is reached.

The dispute stems from a complaint filed by Madrid on June 30, accusing Barcelona of contacting Alvarez during a period prohibited by transfer regulations. The 26-year-old forward is currently tied to his contract at the Metropolitano until the summer of 2030.

Despite the legal tensions, Barcelona maintains that the player remains their primary target for the summer window as they seek to reinforce their attack. Although president Joan Laporta confirmed an official offer was made on July 13, the Atletico board has consistently refused to engage in negotiations regarding his departure.

August 10 is viewed as a decisive date in the situation, as the player is expected to return to training with Atletico. His return is anticipated to clarify his final stance on his future.
