Following the conclusion of the summer transfer window, Barcelona's sporting director Deco and his technical team have shifted their focus to internal matters. The objective is to update the contracts of promising talents who have recently transitioned from the youth ranks into Hansi Flick’s senior squad.
The club is currently in discussions with Hamza Abdelkarim, Xavi Espart, and Brian Farinas regarding new agreements. Their existing contracts, signed while they were still in the youth or reserve teams, are now considered outdated given their integration into the first-team environment.
The hierarchy at Barcelona is determined to protect these players by increasing their release clauses. This move is designed to deter European rivals who have reportedly begun to show interest in the young prospects.
Negotiations with the representatives of the three players began approximately two weeks ago. There is optimism that a swift resolution will be reached, with the club hoping to have the paperwork finalized by the end of the month to solidify the trio's place in the long-term project.
