FC Barcelona has announced the temporary closure of the Gol 1957 sector, home to the team's active supporters. As a result, members of the fan group will be unable to attend the upcoming home match against Alaves in the 11th round of La Liga, scheduled for October 31.
The club explained that the decision stems from several disciplinary proceedings opened against Barcelona and certain members of the fan community regarding behavior that contradicts sporting values. The club stated that such conduct could lead to financial sanctions and the risk of stadium closure, while also damaging the club's reputation.
Barcelona plans to hold a meeting with representatives of the fan groups within Gol 1957. Both parties aim to discuss the situation and establish necessary commitments to ensure that support from the stands remains passionate while adhering to principles of respect and protecting the club's reputation.
The club hopes the sector can return to full operation by the match against Aston Villa, depending on the results of the dialogue and agreements reached regarding proper fan conduct. Barcelona emphasized that active support is a vital part of its identity, which must be preserved through shared responsibility.
