Aston Villa agree €55m deal to sign PSG prodigy Ibrahim Mbaye

Aston Villa have successfully reached an agreement in principle to sign PSG prodigy Ibrahim Mbaye. The Premier League side has matched the French champions' €55 million valuation to secure the 18-year-old Senegalese international.

The deal was facilitated by the strong working relationship between Villa chairman Nassef Sawiris and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Despite significant interest from other top European clubs, most notably Liverpool, Villa moved decisively to finalize the transfer.

Mbaye arrives with senior experience, having made 42 first-team appearances for PSG since his senior debut in August 2024. He holds the record as the youngest player ever to start a competitive match for the French club and has proven his capability on the big stage, including appearances in the Champions League.

This signing represents a key part of Unai Emery's squad overhaul. After high-profile departures such as Morgan Rogers to Chelsea and Ollie Watkins to Al Hilal, Villa have been extremely active, with Mbaye becoming the latest in a series of reinforcements aimed at balancing their squad for domestic and European competition.

The club is currently finalizing the necessary paperwork and medical examinations. Once completed, Mbaye is expected to integrate immediately into the first-team squad, providing a natural right-sided outlet for Emery’s tactical setup.
