Following the completion of the transfer for Goncalo Ramos from PSG, AC Milan's leadership has turned its focus toward bolstering the heart of their defense. Strengthening this position has become a primary objective in the club's current transfer strategy.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri harbor an ambitious desire to sign Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk. While the idea is being discussed at the executive level, the club acknowledges that executing such a high-profile transfer would be extremely difficult.

Alternatively, Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP is viewed as a significantly more realistic target. The Portuguese defender has long been on Milan's radar and is considered a more accessible profile for the current squad. According to Transfermarkt, Inacio is valued at 40 million euros, while the Dutchman is valued at 15 million euros.

Both players currently hold contracts valid until July 2027. Despite the contractual status of both, the Portuguese defender remains the priority for Milan's defensive rebuilding efforts.
