West Ham United have officially announced the signing of England forward Ebony Salmon. The 25-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the club following the expiration of her contract at Aston Villa at the end of the season.

Salmon, who has earned four caps for England, rose through the ranks at Villa before moving to Manchester United in 2018. Her career path has also included spells at Sheffield United, Bristol City, as well as American clubs Racing Louisville and Houston Dash.

I'm really excited to join West Ham United and begin this next chapter of my career. After the conversations I had with Rita [Guarino] and others at the club, it just seemed like the right fit for me. Ebony Salmon

She becomes the seventh summer signing for Rita Guarino's squad. The Hammers are looking to improve their standing in the Women's Super League after finishing third from the bottom last term.
