Thierry Henry warns Liverpool on Bradley Barcola tactical usage

Liverpool have completed the £123 million signing of France international winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. The former PSG forward has been handed the number 29 shirt and is expected to move straight into the starting XI as the first-choice left winger under Andoni Iraola.

Barcola could make his Premier League debut this Friday against Ipswich. This match will serve as the first real test for the coaching staff to integrate the winger into their tactical system.

A big thing about Barcola is it depends how you're going to play. Are you going to be able to put him in one-vs-one situations? What you have also is, if you want to play on the counter, he's fast as hell. But are you going to make him defend way more than he's going to attack? Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry stressed that Liverpool supporters should be excited, provided the team plays to Barcola's specific strengths. Henry noted that the Frenchman thrives in direct duels and high-pressing systems where he can isolate full-backs, but warned against tasking the winger with excessive defensive duties deep in his own half.

Henry also highlighted that the forward has room to improve his finishing, stating that better composure in the box would turn him into a truly dominant player. Jamie Carragher added that while Barcola brings much-needed quality to the side, questions remain regarding the overall balance of the Liverpool squad, particularly the lack of natural cover on the right flank.

The coaching staff is now working on integrating Barcola into full training alongside teammates like Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz, and Alexander Isak as the club aims for a title challenge.
