Santiago Castro joins Roma

Roma has officially announced the signing of 21-year-old forward Santiago Castro from Bologna. The young Argentine has committed to a long-term contract that runs until the summer of 2031.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal is valued at 30 million euros plus 5 million in potential add-ons. Bologna has also secured a percentage of any future transfer fee. Castro is set to earn 2.2 million euros per season with his new club.

Upon joining, Castro was assigned the number 9 shirt. This jersey was previously worn by Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk, who has moved in the opposite direction on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Castro arrives in Rome following a productive season where he recorded 11 goals and four assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.
