Real Madrid winger Rodrygo continues his recovery from a severe knee injury and is unlikely to return to competitive action before the start of 2027, according to reports from AS.

The 25-year-old Brazilian suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear and external meniscus damage during a La Liga match against Getafe in March 2026. The injury forced an early end to his campaign and ruled him out of the 2026 World Cup.

Following a successful surgical procedure, medical staff estimated a recovery timeline of 10 to 12 months. The player is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the club's training facility under close supervision.

As a result, Rodrygo is confirmed to miss the entire first half of the 2026/27 season. This period marks the beginning of the team's era under new head coach Jose Mourinho, who will have to plan without the winger for the opening months. The current expectation is that the forward will be cleared for team training early in 2027.
