Pumas forward Robert Morales has spoken out about the match against Cruz Azul, where his team was forced to play with ten men for nearly 60 minutes following the red card issued to Cesar Huerta in the first half.
Despite securing a draw, the Paraguayan striker admitted to having mixed feelings, as the team had hoped to secure all three points after he scored the side's third goal. He praised the collective effort required to stay in the game under difficult circumstances.
With 10 men, we knew how to handle the match very well. We were a man down very early and that complicated things a little, but the group knew how to hold on. Robert Morales
Morales noted that the team managed to score, but Cruz Azul's equalizer left a bitter taste. Facing a team of Cruz Azul's quality while numerically disadvantaged proved to be a major test for the squad.
With this goal, Robert Morales has now reached three goals in the Liga MX Apertura 2026 tournament.
