Pumas lead the race to repatriate Cesar Huerta

Club Universidad, commonly known as Pumas, has emerged as the frontrunner to bring midfielder Cesar 'Chino' Huerta back to Liga MX. Despite interest from other capital-based clubs such as Club America and Cruz Azul, the player's former team appears to have the best chance of securing a deal.
The interest in Huerta has intensified due to his lack of playing time at Belgian club Anderlecht. Since his return from the World Cup, the Mexican player has struggled to feature, missing out on the squad for six of the team's last seven matches. His final appearance for the European side dates back to May 21, 2026.
