Monaco confirm January transfer exit for Folarin Balogun

Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro has officially confirmed that the club is actively seeking a January exit for American forward Folarin Balogun. The decision follows a summer window where the club was unable to offload the player, leading to both financial pressure and a tactical imbalance within the squad.

Speaking to RMC Sport, Scuro emphasized that finding a solution for Balogun is the club's primary objective for the mid-season window. The CEO stated that successfully moving the 25-year-old would provide the necessary financial stability to retain key players like Lamine Camara and Aleksandr Golovin until the end of the campaign. The situation remains sensitive, however, following the collapse of Balogun's deadline-day move to Everton, which was halted due to fitness concerns raised during a medical.

The current squad configuration has caused significant headaches for the coaching staff, who have struggled with an overload of central strikers while lacking natural width. Scuro admitted his dissatisfaction with the summer transfer window, noting that the inability to execute their initial plan has left the team with a clear sporting deficit.
