MLS: Inter Miami held by Columbus, Lewandowski brace for Chicago
Regular MLS action concluded with Inter Miami drawing 2-2 against Columbus, Chicago Fire beating Charlotte, and Vancouver tying with LAFC.

A busy night of MLS regular season action saw several key results across the league. Inter Miami were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Columbus Crew. Luis Suarez opened the scoring in the 16th minute, followed by an own goal from Casemiro. Although Noah Allen restored the lead for Miami before halftime, Brais Mendez salvaged a point for the visitors in the 84th minute.
The match was marked by the return of Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, who appeared for the first time since the 2026 World Cup after coming on as a substitute early in the second half. Following this draw, Inter Miami sits second in the Eastern Conference with 38 points, while Columbus holds 11th place.
Elsewhere, Chicago Fire secured a 2-1 victory over Charlotte FC. The star of the show was Robert Lewandowski, who netted a brace in the 20th and 68th minutes. These were the Polish forward's first goal contributions for his new club in his third appearance. Chicago currently holds fourth place, while Charlotte remains in seventh.
Finally, Vancouver Whitecaps and LAFC played out a 1-1 draw. Son Heung-min scored for the visitors, but Thomas Muller equalized for the home side. Vancouver remains at the top of the Western Conference, holding a slight advantage over LAFC while having played two fewer games.
