16-year-old Arsenal academy graduate Max Dowman etched his name into English football history during a 4-2 Carabao Cup victory over Ipswich Town. His stunning brace made him only the second 16-year-old to score twice for a Premier League club, matching a benchmark set by Wayne Rooney back in 2002.
Manager Mikel Arteta was full of praise for the youngster's temperament and ability to deliver effortlessly on the big stage. "He is an unbelievable player because of the character that he has and how much he loves to play at the biggest stage," Arteta noted, highlighting the player's relentless pressing and technical quality.

Despite the excitement, Arteta remains focused on the potential risks of placing too much pressure on a teenager. He stressed that while Dowman’s performance was impressive, the club must ensure he is in the right context with proper preparation before throwing him into top-flight intensity.
Arsenal’s coaching staff plans to integrate the sensation gradually rather than rushing his progress. "He is 16 years old and we have to be really cautious," Arteta concluded. "We don't want to stop him, we don't want to put the brakes on him, we need to develop him and we are fully aware what he needs."
