The Mexico U-17 women's national team saw their World Cup journey come to an end following a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria in the Round of 16.

The Mexico U-17 women's national team has been eliminated from the World Cup following a 2-1 defeat against Nigeria in the Round of 16. The team, coached by Miguel Gamero, struggled against a high-pressure Nigerian side and faced defensive challenges that ultimately proved costly.
Nigeria controlled the pace from the start, forcing Mexico into a defensive shell. The deadlock was broken when Oluebube Umejiaku capitalized on a defensive error by Valeria Figueroa to open the scoring. The goal was upheld following a VAR review, confirming the advantage for the African side.
Mexico's difficulties mounted when Mia Urbano had to be stretchered off the field with a leg injury, forcing an early substitution. In the second half, Nigeria extended their lead when Mary Dunstan struck a long-range shot after goalkeeper Ania López parried an initial effort.
Despite the setback, Mexico fought back in the closing stages. Emily Delgado scored a late consolation goal with a powerful strike after a goal-mouth scramble, but the team ultimately ran out of time to force an equalizer.
