Manchester City has officially brought back 20-year-old Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Pearse Charles. The transfer from Sheffield Wednesday is valued at approximately €3.5 million.
Charles is a product of the City academy, having progressed through their youth ranks before moving to Sheffield in 2021 to further his development. His consistent progress caught the attention of City’s scouts, who moved to bring the former trainee back to the club.
However, he will not compete for a spot in the first team immediately. To ensure his continued development, Manchester City has sent the goalkeeper on loan to London side Queens Park Rangers immediately following the signing.
