Following a ninth-place finish in Ligue 1, Lorient president Loïc Féry addressed the media to review the club's centenary season and set the course for the future. Féry confirmed that the club is currently working on extending the contract of vice-captain Montassar Talbi, who is under contract until June 2027.
Regarding the future of Pablo Pagis, Féry noted that the club is open to offers provided they meet a valuation of at least 20 million euros. Conversely, players who arrived last summer, such as Arsène Kouassi and Noah Cadiou, are considered untransferable as the club aims to keep its key talent.
The search for a successor to Olivier Pantaloni is now a top priority. Féry stated that the club is looking for an ambitious manager capable of developing young players and expects to make a final decision within the next one to two weeks.
Addressing concerns about the influence of the Black Knight Football Club, Féry emphasized that Lorient maintains full independence in its sporting decision-making. He reassured fans that the partnership with the group, which also owns Bournemouth, provides the financial security necessary to attract new players without compromising the club's local management.
