Lionel Messi reaches 'preliminary agreement' to buy Eldense
Spanish second-division side Eldense have announced that Lionel Messi has reached a preliminary agreement to become the club's majority shareholder.

Argentina legend Lionel Messi has reached a preliminary agreement to become the majority shareholder of Spanish second-division side Eldense.
The club announced that the deal involves acquiring the shares currently held by Grupo TH Soluciones. The transaction is pending legal and contractual procedures, including a due diligence process and formal authorisation from the Spanish National Sports Council (CSD).
This marks the second Spanish club investment for the 39-year-old, who currently plays for Inter Miami. In April, Messi acquired Catalan club Cornella, which plays in the fifth tier of Spanish football.
The investment comes at a difficult time for the Alicante-based club, which is currently 20th in La Liga 2 with just two points from four matches. Earlier this week, the club parted ways with manager Claudio Barragan.
