Liga MX Apertura 2026: América leads the way as Juárez struggles
Club América tops the Apertura 2026 standings after 12 rounds, while Toluca and Atlas battle for second place.

The 12th round of the Liga MX Apertura 2026 has concluded. Following the final whistle of the match between Monterrey and Pachuca, the league standings have taken shape, confirming both the leaders and those fighting at the bottom of the table.
Club América continues to dominate the tournament, holding 24 points. They sit three points clear of second-placed Toluca, despite having a game in hand due to their Leagues Cup commitments. Atlas has also surged, moving level on points with Toluca following their recent victory over Xolos de Tijuana.
The upper echelons of the table also feature Guadalajara, Cruz Azul, Querétaro, León, and Monterrey. With only five rounds remaining in the regular season, the race for Liguilla qualification spots remains highly competitive.
Conversely, the situation for bottom-table teams remains dire. Juárez currently sits in last place with only four points. They are joined in the lower reaches by Necaxa and Atlante, both of whom face a challenging final stretch as they attempt to improve their standings and avoid potential penalties.
