Klopp confirmed as new Germany head coach
The German Football Association has officially ratified Jürgen Klopp as the new national team manager, with an unveiling set for Friday.

Jürgen Klopp is set to take charge of the German national team after clearing the final administrative hurdles. The council of the DFB's general assembly unanimously ratified his appointment during a digital meeting held on Thursday.
Alongside the manager, the association also confirmed Per Mertesacker as the new executive director, replacing Andreas Rettig. These appointments mark a significant structural shift within the governing body following the 2026 World Cup.
Klopp will be formally presented to the media at a press conference on Friday, becoming the thirteenth manager in the history of the German national side. His coaching staff has also been finalized, featuring long-time associates Peter Krawietz and Pep Lijnders, as well as former Borussia Dortmund player Sven Bender in assistant roles.
Klopp succeeds Julian Nagelsmann, who resigned from his position following Germany's early exit from the 2026 World Cup.
