Germany were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Greece in their Nations League clash at the Toumba Stadium. Despite recording 70.1% possession and registering 21 attempts on goal, the visitors struggled to find a clinical edge against a resolute Greek defense.
The match was defined by a critical VAR intervention in the 32nd minute. Jonathan Burkardt appeared to have opened the scoring, only for referee Clement Turpin to overturn the goal following a review that detected a handball by Tom Bischof in the build-up.
This result marks a difficult start for Jurgen Klopp, who has managed only one win in his first four matches since taking charge of the national team. Despite fielding an attacking side, the German team failed to consistently trouble Greek goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, who made four crucial saves to keep his side in the hunt.
The Group A2 table remains tight, with Greece sitting second on eight points, level with the Netherlands on points but trailing on goal difference. Germany occupy third place with five points, while Serbia remain at the bottom.
