Al-Hilal defender Kalidou Koulibaly returned to full training on Thursday after successfully passing a medical assessment for his thigh injury. His presence on the pitch provides a significant boost to the Saudi club as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
The return effectively puts an end to speculation regarding the defender's long-term fitness, as reports had previously suggested he was suffering from a chronic issue. It also addresses recent fan pressure calling for the club to part ways with the Senegal international.
After a somewhat disappointing previous season that saw the club secure only the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup despite their high-profile squad, the team is looking to challenge for all available silverware this year.
Koulibaly remains under contract with Al-Hilal until the end of next season. Reports indicate that he is currently expected to be registered only for the club's Asian competition squad.
