Jose Mourinho is poised for a dramatic return to Real Madrid. Following the re-election of Florentino Perez as club president, the veteran manager has agreed to take charge once again, with his primary motivation being to address his "unfinished business" by finally winning the Champions League trophy with Los Blancos.
During his initial spell at the Bernabeu between 2010 and 2013, Mourinho broke numerous domestic records but fell short in Europe, suffering three consecutive semi-final exits. Perez, who recently secured his position until 2030, believes the Portuguese coach is the right figure to restore discipline and a competitive edge to a squad that has struggled in recent seasons.
The return will see a shake-up of the backroom staff, with club icon Pepe expected to join the coaching setup. AS reports that several former members of Mourinho’s staff at Benfica, including Joao Tralhao and Pedro Machado, are also lined up to assist in the project.
Furthermore, the move signals a return to the club's famous 'Galacticos' recruitment model. Perez is reportedly preparing a club-record €150 million bid for Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise as part of an ambitious plan to re-establish the club's global dominance.
