Joan Garcia: Barcelona must target Champions League without obsession

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia has shared his thoughts on the team's current outlook and the ongoing transfer discussions surrounding the club. During a recent media interaction, he declined to speculate on potential high-profile signings, such as the market value of Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, noting that such matters fall under the remit of the club's sporting management.

Regarding Julian Alvarez, Garcia stated: "I think he is a truly wonderful player. Anyone who loves football and follows him will immediately realise that he is an amazing player with great quality." He reaffirmed his confidence in the club’s leadership to build a squad capable of competing for all available honors.

The goalkeeper also offered words of support for his teammate Ferran Torres: "The only person who knows exactly what is going through his mind is the player himself, and I think what must be done is to respect that. We are very happy to have him with us, and we hope he stays with us next season."

Looking ahead, Garcia was clear about the team's ambitions. He identified competing for La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa as priorities, while highlighting the Champions League as a primary objective. However, he warned against excessive pressure: "I think we must set the Champions League title as a main objective, and we have to work to achieve it. We will demand the utmost of ourselves to try to win it, without it turning into an obsession."
