Iran national team receives US visas for World Cup
Iranian players have secured their entry visas for the United States for the upcoming World Cup (June 11-July 19). Iran is scheduled to play three group stage matches in the US.
The Iranian national team is set to compete in the World Cup, scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19 in the United States. Following delays, the White House confirmed to Reuters on Friday that the Iranian players have officially received their entry visas for the US.
The squad had already secured visas for Mexico, which will serve as their base camp throughout the competition. The delay in obtaining US travel documents was linked to the ongoing armed conflict involving a coalition including the US and Iran, which created significant diplomatic tension between Washington and Tehran.
Drawn into Group G, Iran is scheduled to face New Zealand and Belgium in Los Angeles, followed by a match against Egypt in Seattle.
