Former QPR and Plymouth midfielder Akos Buzsaky has confirmed he is safe following reports that he had been missing. The 44-year-old had been the subject of a search by police in his native Hungary earlier this week.

Buzsaky took to social media on Friday to address the concerns of his supporters and former clubs. He clarified that recent life changes led him to take a break from his daily routine, and the police report was the result of a misunderstanding by his mother.

Unfortunately, in the last few months, there have been serious changes in my life that have tested me. There came a moment when I felt I had to break away from these daily routines. Akos Buzsaky

The former Hungary international stated that once he became aware of the situation, he immediately contacted the authorities to resolve the confusion. He thanked everyone for their support and concern during this time.

Buzsaky is well-regarded for his time in English football, most notably his five-season spell at Loftus Road with QPR. He also had stints with Portsmouth and Barnsley, accumulating 33 goals across 243 appearances in the UK.
