Ahead of the decisive World Cup group stage match against Haiti, the Brazilian public and political figures have united in a demand for Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti. Fans and pundits are pushing for young star Endrick to be named in the starting XI.
The plea has bridged even political divides, with Senator and football legend Romário openly criticizing the Italian coach. In an interview with Lance!, he argued that the manager is being too conservative by overlooking the talent of his younger squad members.
I would put Endrick or Rayan in the starting lineup for this next game. Ancelotti is blind, even more than the rest of Brazil, because he is not putting the kid on the pitch. Romário
Joining Romário is federal deputy Benedita da Silva, who has been vocal on social media throughout the tournament. She urged the coaching staff to give Endrick and Rayan a chance, emphasizing their ability to change the outcome of a match.
Following a draw in the opening round, the match against Haiti is a must-win for Brazil's progression in the tournament. With Scotland leading Group C, Brazil and Morocco are currently fighting for position with only one point each.
