Efraín Juárez's departure could put Pumas' project at risk
The potential exit of coach Efraín Juárez has left several key Pumas players questioning their future at the club.
The future of Pumas is in jeopardy due to the imminent departure of head coach Efraín Juárez. While the move has not been made official, multiple players are reportedly considering their options, as their commitment to the club was heavily tied to the Mexican coach's presence.
One of the most significant figures considering an exit is goalkeeper Keylor Navas. The Costa Rican star joined Pumas largely due to Juárez, who named him team captain upon his arrival. While the club's vice-president Antonio Sancho has expressed a desire to rejuvenate the squad, it was Juárez's persistence that ensured Navas remained with the team.
The uncertainty also affects players like Jordan Carrillo, who found immense motivation through the coach's training intensity and daily guidance. Similarly, Uriel Antuna and Álvaro Angulo, both of whom were brought in specifically at the request of the coach, are now re-evaluating their positions within the Universidad Nacional project.
