Ahead of France's crucial World Cup semi-final against Spain, head coach Didier Deschamps has confirmed that Kylian Mbappe is fit and available for selection. The manager moved to ease concerns surrounding the forward's fitness following recent reports of discomfort.
Mbappe was substituted during the 2-0 win over Morocco after sustaining a minor ankle issue. Speculation grew when he was spotted training apart from the main group on Monday, with reports suggesting he was still feeling the effects of the knock. However, Deschamps insisted that the modified training session was purely precautionary.
He feels good. He has the right, like others, to go 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes on a drill. Didier Deschamps
Mbappe's presence is a major boost for the French side, as he currently leads the race for the Golden Boot, sitting level with Lionel Messi but ahead on the assists tie-breaker. Additionally, Deschamps provided a positive update on Aurelien Tchouameni, confirming that the midfielder is also available for the upcoming clash after his own recovery period.
