CBF releases Copa do Brasil U-20 schedule with record number of teams
The Brazilian Football Confederation has announced the schedule for the Copa do Brasil U-20, featuring a record 64 participating clubs.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has officially released the match schedule for the Copa do Brasil U-20. The tournament sees a record participation of 64 clubs, doubling the number of teams compared to last year.
To define the opening round, the 64 clubs have been divided into eight geographical regions. The competition is set to begin on September 9, with a total of 77 matches scheduled through to the final on December 2.
The tournament format features single-leg ties for the first and second rounds, as well as the final. The round of 16, quarter-finals, and semi-finals will be contested over two legs, home and away.
The winner of the tournament will qualify for the Supercopa do Brasil U-20, where they will face the winner of the national league (Brasileirão) in the same age category.
