Botafogo terminates contract with defender Caio Roque

Brazilian side Botafogo has officially terminated the contract of left-back Caio Roque, as confirmed by the CBF's daily information bulletin (BID).

The 24-year-old defender joined the club in March but struggled to make an impact, featuring in only six matches. With Alex Telles and Marçal established as the primary options on the left flank, Roque found opportunities limited from the start of his tenure.

The club's decision followed their move to strengthen the position by signing Paulinho from Danish club Midtjylland. Consequently, Roque was excluded from the first-team plans during the World Cup break and began training separately from the main squad. The club subsequently opted to end his loan agreement early.
