Getafe manager Jose Bordalás has expressed his confidence in new signing Johan Mojica ahead of the club's La Liga season opener. The Colombian defender, who joined the squad following his time at Mallorca, has been singled out for praise by his new coach.
"Johan Mojica is a player with a lot of experience, one of the best in his position. He is going to contribute and help us a lot. He arrived with enormous enthusiasm and wanted to come to us from the beginning," said Jose Bordalás.
For Mojica, Getafe will be his eighth club in Spanish football. His extensive CV includes spells at Rayo Vallecano, Valladolid, Girona, Elche, Villarreal, Osasuna, and Mallorca. The defender also arrives after representing Colombia at the 2026 World Cup, where he featured in four of their five matches.
Bordalás acknowledged that the pre-season period was challenging due to squad turnover and limited personnel availability. However, with the league campaign now beginning, the manager remains focused on the team's upcoming competitive challenges.
